Marine Automation & Smart Vessels
Smarter vessels start with smarter systems. Power & Energy Lowlands builds automation that connects propulsion, energy and control:
Making complex technology work simply and intuitively, for crews that need precision and reliability.
From Control to Intelligence
Marine automation brings clarity to complexity. At P&E Lowlands, we engineer systems that make vessels safer, easier to operate and ready for the future. Whether it’s propulsion control, ship-to-cloud monitoring or autonomous navigation, we deliver systems that simply work,
every day, under real conditions.
What We Deliver
• Autonomous functions that support navigation, manoeuvring and safety.
• Ship-to-cloud connectivity for real-time data collection, monitoring and reporting — on land or at sea.
• Integrated automation platforms that manage propulsion, energy and onboard systems from one user-friendly interface.
• Fleet monitoring and smart alerts to keep operators informed, wherever they are.
Together with our remote control partner, P&E automated the full command and control of our vessels, from cabinet design and wiring to final installation and commissioning. The result: three fully connected boats that can now be steered safely and reliably from shore

Autonomy in Motion
Autonomous navigation begins with perception. LiDAR, radar, cameras and GNSS continuously scan the vessel’s surroundings, detecting shorelines, vessels and floating obstacles. Sensor fusion software merges all signals into a live 3D model, giving the vessel constant spatial awareness.
Navigation algorithms then compare this model with the planned route. When an obstacle appears, a buoy, moored boat or drifting log, the collision avoidance logic calculates the safest deviation and adjusts thrust and steering instantly. The system keeps the vessel efficient, balanced and always on course.
All data connects through a secure cloud interface, allowing operators to monitor, intervene and optimise performance from shore.
The result: intelligent marine control that turns advanced sensing into practical, reliable autonomy.
